Wrapping up 2020 with happiness!

We all know that 2020 was not the best of years, but I promise that this post contains photographs of happy people right at the end of the year, close to Christmas, to cheer you up!

Besides that, this was the last of the 4 weddings I photographed last year, and now it's time for this year's bookings to start happening. So, I'm counting on having new images to share with you really soon.

So let's talk a bit about Marta and Álvaro!

This fantastic couple had initially planned to get married in April of 2020 and so, they were some of the first forced to postpone their celebration. They the same as many other couples, they chose a new date and adapted the plans they had to deal with the restrictions at the time.

The date they chose was the weekend before Christmas and they were gifted a beautiful day, even if it was quite cool! ;)

The ceremony took place at the registry office with just a handful of friends and family and the lunch that followed with just a few family members. But the bride and the groom were clearly happy, which was noticeable in their smiles, even when it was just their eyes smiling above the masks.

During the afternoon we were able to walk around a bit and we went to the spring of the Lis river and also to the city center. The bride and groom took me along while they constantly played around with each other and the city gave us some Christmas lights to mess around with.

It was fun to see the reaction of those out on the street because many seemed to be caught by surprise when seeing a bride and groom at this time of the year.

I got home at the end of the day happy because I had spent it photographing and because I knew that even though the year hadn't been easy, there were still moments of happiness for people to enjoy.

The couples that decided, despite everything, to make their weddings happen this last year have my eternal thank you, for helping my hope to survive and grow.

Now we just have to do everything in our power to be able to keep going out safely and that way make the happy events that are weddings and other such celebrations start making part of our day-to-day again. :)
